Overview

The digital world brings the opportunity of trying out new ways of engagement. During the workshop we will show you a brief introduction into game development and the different aspects of building your own games. Game development is a unique process of bringing different disciplines together to create a creative, engaging, entertainment product. We will look at early prototyping and the concept phase of development and what happens if your ideas don’t work out. The actual development cycle and how do you develop your ideas. The final 20% of making/releasing the game and what that entails.

Who is this for?

This is for people with some experience in coding who are willing to experiment with new ways of engaging digitally.

Video game design; game narratives; 

Where will you use this? 

In your digital engagement projects. Many citizen science initiatives have also gamified part of the research process in order to enable non technical people to contribute into the scientific pipeline. It can be an exciting and novel way of attracting audiences to our work.
