Sat 3rd Apr,
4:30pm to 6:00pm

Welcome to Talkaoke - a pop up talk show where anyone can sit down and air their views around the table of chat. The People Speak have been running Talkaoke events from street corners to theatres, galleries, conferences, festivals all around the world, and now they are venturing online! The Talkaoke conversation is a journey from one unexpected subject to another. It can be topical, funny, deep, out-there, or all of the above. It is a great chance to hear the latest ideas that people are talking about and to generate and discover new ones.

Join experts from the Wellcome Genome Campus, the University of Cambridge and other institutions, as well as other curious people, for a fun filled, often surprising, conversational adventure!

Talkaoke is an emergent, non-predetermined conversation so we don't know where it will lead, or what new connections might be made. In this series for the Cambridge festival we hope to touch upon the nature of creativity and direction in science and other fields of research in the first session and explore the intersection between communicating uncertainty and trust in the second session.

Saturday 27th March, 4:30-6pm

  • Talkaoke Asks...Where do researchers get their ideas from?

Saturday 3rd April, 4:30-6pm

  • Talkaoke Asks...Who do you trust?

You will need to book tickets for each event separately. Booking is free.
