Saving the Devil

How is genomics is being used as a tool in animal conservation?

Saving the Devil is a multimedia resource that shares the story of the Tasmanian devil and how it is being affected by a contagious cancer. Using a blend of interviews with expert scientists, photos and interactive activities, we showed how scientists are working together to understand the cancer and save the devil from extinction.

This resource demonstrates how genomics is being used to understand cancer biology and as a tool in animal conservation. It also shows how animals can help us to understand diseases that affect humans. HOw many hits/downlaods/views?

We worked with leading experts from the UK and Tasmania to introduce this compelling story to a public audience. Using our team’s skills and experience in interactive development, animation and filmmaking we were able to use a blend of approaches to tell the Tasmanian devil’s story.
